Glamping Maryland Cabins

Timber Valley Retreat is a 100 acre farm located in Western Maryland and in Washington County Maryland.

Why stay at Timber Valley Retreat?

Timber Valley Retreat has 3 sleeping cabins that offers accommodations for up to 15 people (5 people per cabin per Maryland law) and all the cabins have AC/Heat. We only rent to one family or group at a time, so they have the entire campgrounds to themselves.

We offer an outdoor shower with hot/cold water, a flushable toilet with water. a summer kitchen with 2 refrigerators, stove/oven, microwave, sink with hot/cold water, and meal tableware, etc.. We have two park style grills and a larger fire ring with seating for the guests to use. We also offer a large childrens play area with an airplane seesaw and numerous swings, tree house and a sandbox.

Timber Valley Retreat also has an area on the property that has large outcropping of boulders that are moss covered and offers a an "enchanted forest" kind of vibe. The adults and kids just love the area once we take them back between the large boulder walkway into the enchanted area. We also have a deck area where our guests can sit and watch the trains from an advantage point above the train and feel the wind while the train is passing by below. The farm has abundant wildlife and many wildlife view stations for our guests enjoyment to watch wildlife.

We also offer all guest a "hay wagon" ride around the farm (free) and we stop and show them important aspects of the farm. The hand dug well on the farm, the spring fed pond that offers paddle boating, the wild sunflowers returning every year in different locations in the landscape beds from the goldfinches and blue birds spreading the sunflower seeds. We also have over 20 Bluebird boxes on the property for the Bluebirds to raise their families each year. We also show the guest the Paw Paw fruit of the trees, Chestnuts and wild raspberry plants that the wildlife feed on.

Timber Valley Retreat borders the historic C&O Canal and Potomac River and we are a short 3 minute walk to both. The C&O Canal offers hiking, biking, walking and horseback riding for 184.5 miles. We are at mile marker 108 along the C&O Canal. The C&O Canal has many historic structures and canal locks for the history buffs to explore. The Potomac River offers world class fishing, boating, kayaking, tubing and just a beautiful place to just sit and enjoy nature.

We are looking to help get families outdoors, reconnected, to enjoy nature and put down the electronic devices and see what they are missing by not being outdoors and in nature.

We have many national parks  and state parks that are within a 2 hour drive.  The Appalachian Trail, Antietam National Battlefield, Antietam Creek Water Trail, Antietam National Cemetery Museum, Fort Frederick State Park, Hagerstown Aviation Museum, Historic Fort Ritchie, John Brown Raid Headquarters, Jonathan Hager House Museum, Plumb Grove Mansion, South Mountain State Battlefield, Washington County Rural Heritage Museum, Washington Monument State Park, Conococheague Creek, and the Gettysburg National Battlefield.

As a lifelong landscape contractor by trade, I spend all of my time outdoors and have a love for nature and the care for our farm and property.

Timber Valley is truly one of the wonders of the world.

Come experience Timber Valley Retreat this year!
